We have just a few hours before results are scheduled to be announced and several of the judges frankly require a bit more time to get their results in. So I’m delaying announcing the results by 24 hours. Results will be announced tomorrow by 12:00 AM (UTC), Tuesday, August 7, 2007.
I apologize for the delay and assure all the participants that I’m making every effort to ensure that the judges complete their task thoroughly and thoughtfully. I know that even after the results are announced that there will be some amount of dissent and/or disagreement, but that is the nature of a competition.
I also wanted to give everyone the option of receiving results as soon as they are ready. I will send an email to all the registered users of the SDC. If you haven’t registered yet, register now.
In the meantime, I’m working on adding the necessary links to each the design pages to launch a live preview of a given design. I think that should be a welcomed feature. And after that, I’ll get links put together from the live previews to the design pages. Whew. Time to roll up my sleeves.

I can understand why the judges needed more time. I was getting a little overwhelmed just trying to take a glance at every one of the themes.
I look forward to seeing the results!
Also, I just registered as a SDC user. What plugin are you using to get that customized wordpress interface. I like it.
Thanks for being understanding.
I’m using the Tiger WP admin plugin. Pretty slick and another example of CSS-only design.
I still prefer the good ol’ WordPress admin design
Also, I ran all the way to the school library just to see this. Ah well, I hope the judges make good use of this extra time
I’ll still try to get a computer tomorrow morning. The school library’s computers are all messed up and the computer lab’s unavailable. At least only today.
Good luck to everyone
Thanks for the update Scott. I am excited to see the results. Good luck to everyone!
Ooh, I like the Tiger plugin. I just spent a little time tweaking it here and there. If you add the following to the bottom of the Tiger.css file, it gets rid of that annoying gap between the page and the top bar on the Dashboard page:
#minisub{ height:0px; margin:0px; padding:0px; }I understand that. The task of judging is not that easy as it looks. Nevertheless, I am also very eager to see the results:-)
I like the user interface and will have a look at that plugin;-)
I’d much rather the judges take their time. totally understandable.

Best of the Sandbox Designs Competition
Since the Sandbox Designs competition was announced, I’ve been watching this whole event unfold. Towards the end I even expressed an interest in creating a design of my own, only to find out I didn’t have a free enough schedule to pull it …
